For practical purposes, we shall lump together under the word Webinar, true webinars, video presentations, podcasts and any other audio-visual presentation.
A webinar is a powerful tool to convey a complex message and get feedback from the audience. This happens immediately, as is the case for live webinars or delayed as happens once the video is posted online for later access. Just to understand the communication power of a webinar posted in YouTube, an explanation of how to use a well known company's electrophoresis apparatus accumulated, in 5 years, and at very low cost, ~75,000 views!

Webinars can be classified in three categories:
Informative: The presenter delivers information to an audience in real time. This is equivalent to giving an oral presentation at a congress. This type of webinar is generally recorded live and it ends up being posted online and watched by a very large audience, many times more that what is achievable in a regular congress presentation.
The organization and presentation of this type of webinar is usually done by a an academic institution, a society or a company. However, the ever decreasing cost of information technology along with the current set-up simplicity is now allowing individuals to host their own event in what could be called Personal Webinars. As a matter of fact, it is now possible to create webinars for free by using YouTube® in conjunction with Google Hangouts®.
It is likely that you have already done one or more oral presentations at a congress. A Personal Webinar - or a YouTube® video - is not more complicated than that and it has three significant advantages: You can do it from the comfort of your house or office, you can edit it and polish it until you are pleased with the final result and it has the potential to reach far more viewers than any congress presentation could. Yet, it costs less than the cost of traveling, registering and staying at a hotels in order to present results at a congress. With the proper awareness campaign your webinar will likely have a larger audience than in any congress.
In an effort to support Personal Webinars, we offer important discounts to the scientific community.
Infomercial: In this type of event, the presenter provides information conducive to the audience buying or using a given product or service. These events are typically carried out by biotechnology companies bringing to market a new device or service. Very often, the speaker is a well known scientist who has very successfully used a technology proprietary to the company sponsoring the webinar.
Using our services you can expand the audience and therefore generate more revenue, which pays for the campaign and more.
Educational: The presenter is the teacher and the audience is the class. The interaction is quite important and therefore this type of event is limited to a smaller audience that the previous types. The events are live and they are akin to a course, with classes taking place regularly.

Mailer.ltd offers awareness campaigns for all three types of webinars and offers a great discount for Personal Webinars.
The campaigns consists of 3-4 mail-outs starting 10-14 days before the event with the last round taking place the day before the webinar's date. Educational Webinars are a special case: We do not promote each individual event but rather the course before it starts.
Once a webinar is saved online - which is almost always the case - we offer 'maintenance' campaigns.
Our emails inviting scientists to attend a webinar have a target link, which is a client's page, the webinar main page, the webinar registration page or even a YouTube® page. In all cases, you provide the address of the target page. Regardless of the webinar's location, our system collects information of who received the email, who opened it and who visited the webinar page.
Moreover, as the webinar organizer, you have direct access to the name and emails of those who register for the event. You are free to use that information in any way you wish for future events.
Send us an email with your questions regarding webinars -
Within 14-21 days of the last mail-out in a campaign, we send you a report including the following information:
- Total number of emails sent throughout the campaign. If the campaign includes more than one mail-out, this number will be the aggregate of all the emails sent (unique + repeats).
- Number of unique recipients.
- Number of emails opened by the recipients (this is usually largely underestimated due to recipients email program settings).
- Number of recipients who clicked the link in the email to view the target page.
- An Excel® file with the first name, last name and the institution's name and address - if available - of those recipients who opened the target page.
