Societies or scientific associations are dependent on their number of members. The larger the membership, the better.
New societies need to tell potential members know about their creation. Well established associations need to renew themselves and recruit young scientists, doctors or other specialists in their field. In all cases, the organization needs to make potential members aware of what it is all about.
That is where we come in: We can help your society disseminate its message to thousands or even tens of thousands of specialists in your domain, at negative cost! Yes, your society can end up making money!
The additional revenue can be used to improve the services the society offers to its members or lower their membership fees.
How does it work? Typically, a society would create some incentives to recruit members (e.g. new services, a promotional reduction in its annual membership fee, etc). Then, a description of the society, the incentives, promotions, etc, is sent to a large audience of professionals in the association's area of interest. This used to be done with a flyer over regular mail. Nowadays, we do it by email, which is far cheaper and more effective. In the email, we include a link to the target page, which can be the society's home page or a specially designed page underlying the advantages of becoming a member.
A campaign should consist of at least 3 mail-outs spread over a period of weeks. A good strategy is to have the campaign carried out every year, right before the time of the year when members need to renew their membership.
As mentioned elsewhere for other types of campaigns, recruiting just a few members can pay for the campaign. In other words, not only the campaign increases the membership but also, it may pay for itself!
