Promoting books and scientific journals was the original motivation behind our services. Both technical books and journals are read by professionals and therefore, reaching them is of paramount importance.
Some publishers have in house promotional programs. Using our services has two additional advantages: One is that our campaigns are topic-centric rather than based on a general list of emails the publishing house gathers over the years. It is rather common to receive multiple email promotions from a publisher covering a roster of journals that have little to do with one's interest. More often than not, that results in labeling the publishers' emails as spam, which is extremely undesirable.
The second advantage is the personalization of our emails. As shown under HOW IT WORKS, the Subject of our emails displays either the name of the recipient or the title of one of his or her papers in the area covered by the journal or the book. That personalization prevents the email from being filtered out by the recipient's email software and the Subject prompts the recipient to open and read the email.
The strategy to promote a book is different from the strategy to promote a journal. Promoting a book is like a sprint, promoting a journal is more like a Marathon.

Publishing a book is a onetime event and requires an initial mail-out as large as possible with 1 or 2 follow ups shortly thereafter.
The return on investment is very attractive since - depending on the price - selling a few additional books pays for the entire email campaign.
Here is an actual example of a small campaign promoting an Open Access chapter in a book

While promoting subscription journals has value, Open Access journals are particularly interesting because our campaigns result in an immediate revenue increase for the publisher.
The objective is to attract authors to publish in one of the publisher's journal on the topic. Thus, repeated mail-outs work best since chances are that one or more emails will reach authors right in the process of deciding where to submit their results.
